The inaugural Corporate Golf Day for Breast Cancer Care WA was a great success both on and off the course, raising over $34,000 for West Australians facing breast cancer.

Held at Joondalup Resort on Tuesday 18 May 2021, the event saw a full field of 36 teams of 4 make every swing count in an Ambrose style event. Whilst the weather threatened, even providing an ominous soundtrack for a while, it held off for a beautiful day of golf for some and for others it was more about enjoying an afternoon out of the office.

There were plenty of laughs and some good-natured rivalry with special fundraising holes like the “Fastest Tee Off,” “Longest Marshmallow Drive,” and regular favourites – Nearest to the Pin and Longest Drive. The day was capped off with a sundowner looking out over the lake and course, including a silent and live auction.

Congratulations to the following teams and indivduals who took out the prizes on the day:

  • Longest Drive (Dune 5) – Chris, Commonwealth Bank
  • Longest Drive (Quarry 8) – Andrew, Site Skills Training
  • Nearest to the Pin(Quarry 3) – Andrew, Site Skills Training
  • Nearest to the Pin(Dune 4) – Andrew, Site Skills Training
  • Longest Marshmallow Drive – Kim, KTrans
  • Fastest Tee Off – Jetline Corporation (Russell, Vaughn, Brad, Ian)
  • Overall Winner – VDM Consulting – Damian, Daniel, Jim, Andrew)

Thank you to everyone who participated on the day. A special thank you to our hole sponsors Allship Engineering, Shelford Quality Homes, KTrans, Nimbus, The Market Herald, Advisir and Centrewest Insurance Brokers, who provided us with so much fun and laughter across the day! Also to our beverage sponsors Asahi Lifestyle Beverages, Oakover Wines and Carlton United Breweries for keeping us refreshed. And of course Joondalup Resort for the beautiful course and all the help and guidance.

Every dollar raised will support those in WA facing a diagnosis of breast cancer. Thanks to everyone involved, they will be able to access our specialist breast care nursing, counselling, support groups and financial assistance program when they need it most.
