How can breast cancer be treated?

Treatment regimes for breast cancer are dependent on a number of factors. The factors will vary according to these factors and the stage of the cancer. Each woman’s situation and cancer is different. For this reason, we caution women about comparing their treatment with that of others.

About treatment

The aim of breast cancer treatment is:

  1. To remove the breast cancer
  2. Destroy any cancer cells that may remain in the breast. and surrounding area
  3. Destroy any cancer cells that may have spread outside the breast.

Breast cancer treatment can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal therapies.
