Pilates Introductory Program for Breast Cancer Survivors

Women doing Yoga pose on mat

This 8-week program is specifically for clients who have completed their treatment and are looking for a place to begin or re-visit their Pilates practice.

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on what your body can do rather than what it can’t. It is ideal for the breast cancer survivor as it is a whole-body exercise system that can be tailored for each individual, dependent on age, physical abilities and fitness level. Pilates develops core strength, functional muscles, promotes good alignment and mind-body connection.

In addition to the physical benefits, regular participation in a Pilates program can boost self-esteem, confidence, body image and promote an overall sense of well-being. For more information on the benefits of pilates for breast cancer survivors, please click here.

The Breast Cancer Care WA Pilates Program will be facilitated by Stephanie Schmidt. Stephanie is an experienced Pilates Instructor and qualified Occupational Therapist, with a passion for assisting her clients to enjoy the best of themselves and their body, wherever they may be in life’s journey. Stephanie hopes this program will be a great “taster” for all participants and inspire them to continue on with their own Pilates practise after this 8-week program.
