Awareness

I’m breast aware, are you?

Early detection of breast cancer increases the chances of successful treatment and ultimately, survival. At the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA Inc we seek to spread the message within the community that Early Detection Saves Lives. We engage in awareness raising and educational activities to increase our community’s knowledge about being breast aware.

Stories of survival

Why not get a group together and invite a Guest Speaker from the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA Inc to speak? A breast cancer survivor sharing her story is an experience like no other. Hearing a survival story first hand will both inspire and educate your group about the importance of detecting breast cancer early.

Educating your group

Our Breast Care Nurse is also available to provide an educational session to suit your group’s needs. Topics include:

  • Being breast aware
  • Breast cancer
  • Breast cancer treatments
  • Supporting people through breast cancer

Contact the Foundation on 9324 3703 to arrange a speaker at your next gathering.

Youth Education Package

The Foundation has been working with young people to develop a package to go to secondary schools, TAFEs and universities across the state. This package will increase awareness of the importance of early detection and provide young people with resources to support them through a breast cancer experience. This package is completed and has been distributed to schools. This package is also available from WestOne services, to recieve call 9229 5200.
