How you can help

Subiaco Football Club is Breast Aware!

The Subiaco Football Club is a proud supporter of the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia.

Subiaco Football Club held it’s inaugural Purple Bra Day game on 13th June 2009 and proved a huge success both on and off the ground for the Club and BCFWA.

Club president Neil Randall bought the house down at the pre-match luncheon taking up the challenge to don a purple bra in front of the audience. Thanks to Neil’s sportsmanship and the generosity of the guests this stunt plus other fundraising activities on the day raised almost $5000!

Many special touches were showcased on the day including the umpiring squad looking particularly handsome all decked out in purple uniforms. Senior player Rob Forrest’s mum Rhonda who is experiencing her own battle with breast cancer was honoured with the toss of the coin.

And of course to top off a fantastic day, Subiaco were also winners defeating rivals Swan Districts 16.14 (110) to 13.11 (89).

Our sincere thanks goes to all of the players and staff at Subiaco Football Club who have got behind our cause and supported BCFWA throughout 2009.

We are looking forward to a big year in 2010, with the now annual ‘Purple Bra Day' game against the Swan Districts scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 12 or Sunday 13 June 2010.
