Give Breast Cancer The Boot
With one in eight Australian women being diagnosed with breast cancer, the importance of providing support services and promoting the early detection message has never been so important.
With this in mind, BCFWA and the Steel Blue Foundation created the Purple Boot Brigade™ campaign. $30 from the purchase of each pair of exclusive Steel Blue purple boots is donated to support the BCFWA’s education, awareness and support programs. The Steel Blue Foundation has already donated over $140,000 from the sales of Purple Boots.
Where does the money go?
Our objective is to create education and awareness programs across the nation, and our first project is targeting youth to make the younger generation breast aware. With the number of women being diagnosed with breast cancer increasing from one-in-eleven to one-in-eight over recent years, the need for breast awareness education from a young age is vital.
Across the past 12 months the BCFWA has been working with the Department of Education and Training WA to produce the Breast Cancer Awareness Learning Resource for Secondary Schools, which can be easily incorporated into the health and education curriculum.
