Purple Twilight Walk and Outdoor Film 2010

WHAT IS PURPLE TWILIGHT WALK?

The first Purple Twilight Walk was held in 2006 to raise public awareness about breast cancer. The event has now grown to become a key fundraising event for the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA.

The event incorporates:

• A picturesque 4km walk along the Swan River from Supreme Court Gardens to Point Fraser and back.
• Family entertainment, raffle draws and market stalls in the grounds of Supreme Court Gardens.
• Spot prizes for the best purple dressed participants.
• A free outdoor movie featuring an Australian classic film.

All money raised at the Purple Twilight Walk will go toward keeping the doors of the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA open, so we can continue providing support services to those affected by breast cancer.

This year's event will be held at Supreme Court Gardens on Sunday 31st October 2010. More info to come.

2009 PHOTOS

Over 1000 participants converged on Supreme Court Gardens, many dressed in colourful and creative purple outfits to join the third annual Purple Twilight Walk.

The event kicked off breast cancer awareness month and helped to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA and also to raise awareness of "being breast aware" as early detection saves lives!

It was fantastic to bring together so many people from all ages, many of whom have been affected or touched by breast cancer some way.

The leisurely walk along the river at twilight was followed by a picnic in the park accompanied with a jazz band, and then everyone enjoyed an outdoor movie screening of "Easy Virtue" under the stars.
