Community fundraising is the heart and soul of Breast Cancer Care WA and remains one of our keys links to the broader community. Breast Cancer Care WA receives no government assistance and relies on the enthusiasm of fundraisers to help us continue providing our services at no cost.

Vilma's solo Gibb River Challenge - May 2012
The Gibb Challenge is a charity mountain bike ride from Derby to El Questro in the Kimberley Wilderness region of WA.
In May, Vilma will tackle the gruelling ride of more than 740kms over five days … solo!
Vilma understands only too well the devastating affect breast cancer can have on your life. At 25 her younger sister was diagnosed but lived for 14 more years and raised three beautiful children before passing away at 39 years of age. One year later in 2009, Vilma was diagnosed.
Riding for her sister and Breast Cancer Care WA, Vilma aims to raise funds to help other families affected by breast cancer as thanks for how we were able to help hers. Go Vilma! We’re really proud of you.

VMAX screening of What to Expect When You're Expecting. Thursday, May 31.
It's everything you would expect and more! ELA is all about empowering, educating and bringing women together in a fun and decadent fashion to raise awareness of breast cancer and generate funds for the vital work of Breast Cancer Care WA.
Peard Real Estate Marketing Manager Brodie Fleay initiated the event in 2009 because of a growing number of company employee's, friends and family members who had been personally affected by breast cancer. We felt, not that we should do something to help, but that we had to do something to help" Brodie said.
ELA 2012 will be a VMAX screening of the hilarious comedy "What to Expect When You're Expecting" at Event Cinemas in Innaloo from 7pm on Thursday, May 31.
Tickets are $60 each and include a glass of champagne on arrival, pre-movie canapés and activities, VMAX movie screening, a small popcorn, choc top, water or soft drink and an exclusive ELA showbag packed with girly goodies!
This movie night out is not to be missed. Brodie, Katie and Claire put so much effort, talent and creativity into the evening to make it memorable, fun and successful. Previous years has been a sell out so don't drag your feet and miss out on tickets!

With 1 in 9 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, Breast Cancer Care WA has been providing personalised emotional, practical and financial support and care to people affected by breast cancer since 2000.

How about a reason to catch up with friends, a reason to get out of the house or a reason to get physically active on a Sunday all whilst supporting a charity close to many people’s hearts? City to Surf, Sunday, August 26.
A team of seven from Soapbox PR including their trainer Hilary are all participating in the City to Surf on Sunday, 26 August 2012 and fundraisng for Breast Cancer Care WA.
Caroline, Paula, Louise and Lorelei who are not runners and never have been, have set themselves a challenge to run 12km in less than 12 months. Hilary is competing in the 42km marathon and Sasha and Neil are going to walk. Whatever your level of involvement, it is a fun outdoor activity to be involved in.
Soapbox PR assisted Breast Cancer Care WA with some propbono work at The 2011 Celebration of Women Long Table Lunch and were so touched by the stories they heard and people they met that they wanted to do more during the year.
Lorelei says "The Soapbox PR team have also been touched in some way personally by breast cancer. Paula's mother is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and is our biggest inspiration in many ways.
Our goal is to raise around $2,000 between now and August for the beautiful team at Breast Cancer Care WA" says Lorelie.
The Perth City to Surf has something for everyone including a 4km and 12km run/walk, 4km wheelchair, 21km half marathon and 42km marathon. For more information visit www.perthcitytosurf.com
