What is the Long Table Lunch?

Celebration of Women Long Table Lunch was born in 2004 by Faith Nichols of Comestibles to commemorate the life of Pippin Bath, a prominent member of the Perth catering industry who lost her battle with breast cancer at the young age of 37.

To keep with Faith’s original vision and the spirit of the event, each year we continue to honour another brave woman who has lost her life to breast cancer. After 4 big years of heading the enormous catering task Faith Nichols passed the baton forward to include the wider catering community.

The Long Table Lunch has had a history of involving some of the states most renowned chefs and caterers including Kate Lamont (Lamonts), Gill Holly (Brush Fork & Pencil), Jane Burchett (Attitude on Food), The Gala Restaurant and All Seasons Catering. Other major contributors include Heyder & Shears, Robert Duvall Foods, Pickled Pink, Finger Food Catering, Tasty Tarts, Good Mood Food and Red Pepper Catering.

The delicious food and unique style of the Long Table Lunch is only part of the essence of the event. What makes the day truly unique is that every item used is generously donated or heavily discounted and the wait service is delivered by an enthusiastic team of approximately 150 volunteers. The team of dedicated volunteers include breast cancer survivors, relatives, enthusiastic students, caring individuals and even current patients.

This day is an event to celebrate life and the courage of so many women who have travelled through a breast cancer journey whilst raising funds to help those on a journey now and in the future. You can come and be a part of this amazing event and you too can make a difference.
