Flesh, fantasy and fundraising marked the annual black-tie Boobalicious Ball hosted by adultshop.com at the Hyatt Regency Perth Hotel Grand Ballroom on Saturday evening, 21 June 2008 to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA.
Set in the lush Garden of Eden, it was a glamour-drenched affair featuring the soulful groove of 5-piece Fremantle band Soothe, a delicious four course menu and endless beverages from very generous sponsors, including The Growers, McKenna Bourbon, Amstel and Segura Viudas.
But far and away the most exciting part of the evening was the signature Boobalicious Ball lingerie and fantasy parade – dubbed by social writers as the sexist catwalk show of the year!
A bevy of wicked witches and a bubbling cauldron gave way to glamorous broomsticks and bikinis, drunken sailor girls, sexy 50s pin-ups, frisky French maids, and beautiful Moulin Rouge courtesans when sassy models from Perth’s top agencies strutted their stuff in Leg Avenue lingerie.
Hosts with the most Ryan Campbell and Jess Turkington kept the crowd entertained as guests dug deep with some spirited bidding in the live auction run by Melbourne auctioneer extraordinaire Bill Wellwood.
Dubbed one of the most anticipated gala events of the year, Boobalicious 2008 raised almost $75,000 on the night with the event contributing over $270,000 to the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA to date.
