Treating Breast Cancer

Treatment regimes for breast cancer are dependent on a number of factors. Each woman’s situation and cancer is different. Treatment will also be affected by the stage at which the cancer is found.

The aim of breast cancer treatment is:

  1. To remove the breast cancer.
  2. Destroy any cancer cells that may remain in the breast.
  3. Destroy any cancer cells that may have spread outside the breast.

Breast cancer treatment can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal therapies.
